Job Summary:

TalentSource Life Sciences is currently searching for an experienced Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Technician to join one of our partner companies. The Biomedical Scientist needs to be based in the Hannover region of Germany.   This will be a part-time (2 - 3 days per week), home-based, permanent position and the successful candidate will be working on studies dedicated to one client.

TalentSource Life Sciences is currently searching for an experienced Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Technician to join one of our partner companies. The Biomedical Scientist needs to be based in the Hannover region of Germany.

This will be a part-time (2 - 3 days per week), home-based, permanent position and the successful candidate will be working on studies dedicated to one client. The Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Technician will be required to travel nationally with short notice as part of this role. Occasional international travel may also be required.

As a client-facing role, we are looking for confident candidates with the ability to work independently whilst establishing a high-trust environment with the client counter-parts.

The Biomedical Scientist Laboratory Technician will support and assist in coordinating clinical trials at their assigned Hospital and Clinics. Assist in quality research with the provision of timely and accurate data. To act as keyworker to Principal Investigators and site staff throughout the clinical trial experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed

· Process specimens, semen analysis, proficiency testing

· Follow procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results

· Communicate the results obtained as per data entry requirements

· Ensure study records are accurately maintained, including but not limited to: case report forms, trial site files and visit report forms

· Ensure that hospital procedures and policies are followed

· Ensure Study protocols are followed and that studies are conducted in accordance with ethical principles that are consistent with the Declaration of Helsinki, International Conference on Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Registration of Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Pharmacoepidemiology Practices (GPP) and applicable legislation for observational studies

· Provide, maintain and facilitate a high standard of clinical trial practice developing and promoting effective channels of communication both verbally and electronically

· Attention to detail, including administrative tasks associated with biomedical analysis

Specific Study Tasks:

· Training will be conducted face to face over a three-day training course in the USA. Applicants must be able to travel for the training.

· Supporting several sites and subjects within defined geographical region for 48 months. The number of sites and subjects will vary based on site activity and subject enrolment rates. Each subject will have approximately 10 visits per year.

· Visit duration may vary, estimated 4 hours for visit procedure.

· Liaise with the study coordinator on timing of subject visits and arrive prior to subject's scheduled visit time, organising and scheduling all necessary travel arrangements for the visit.

· Travel duration for each visit will vary between locations within driving distance (may be 4 - 6 hours from technician's home) to flying to locations within country, overnight or weekend stays may be required to ensure that samples are analysed per protocol.

· Calibrate equipment and if necessary set up equipment in preparation for analysis of sperm samples or transport the equipment to the site if needed

· Analyse sperm samples within 1 hour of donation at site

· Complete Case Report Forms related to standardized sperm analysis

· Complete visit report forms and visit timesheet

· Able to commit to the study for the full duration (4 years)

· Teleconferences with the Project Manager to review visit scheduling and invoicing

Work Experience / Skills:

· Obtained an Associate Degree or higher, with experience in clinical laboratory science

· General laboratory experience and knowledge of lab safety procedures and safe handling of specimens

· Fluency in English, both verbal and written communication

· Must be able to write reports and communicate well to internal customers

· Well-developed organizational skills and ability to multi-task

· Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively to a wide multidisciplinary team and patients

· Ability to work independently and be an excellent team player

· Flexibility to ensure achievement of objectives within constantly changing environments

Travel will be required for this role, primarily national but some international travel too. Applicants must be happy and able to travel as required with relatively short notice (a few days).
