WHY: This year's Conference will bring together hundreds of life
science professionals and showcase recent scientific
advancements, business achievements and public policy issues. Attendees
will hear about the industry’s significant growth across the state and
will have the opportunity to take advantage of a first-time
collaboration with Southeast BIO (SEBIO) Investor & Partnering Forum to
broaden business relationships throughout the state and region.

state of health in Florida and providing an update on the Zika virus

More than 7 Scientific sessions addressing current and noteworthy
research topics and featuring Florida's areas of strength including:
Medical Technology, Precision Medicine, Oncology, Aging and
Neurodegenerative Diseases, Cell Therapy and Regenerative
Medicine, and introducing Pediatrics and Women's Health
More than 7 Business sessions highlighting company successes and
providing entrepreneurial and executive level support in funding,
business strategy and commercialization. “Spotlight on Innovation”
session showcases 4 companies that have achieved significant
milestones throughout the year including NDA submission, IPO, FDA
product approval and launch, and impressive clinical data results.
Companies include TherapeuticsMD, Espero Pharmaceuticals, HedgePath
Pharmaceuticals and Sensus Healthcare.
Enhanced BioPitch competition for seed and early-stage companies with
one-on-one investor meetings this year. Attendees will watch the
selected finalists present to a panel of investors during the General
Session at the Conference.
Award Ceremony recognizing the most successful companies and
entrepreneurs in the state. Specific awards include: BioFlorida
Leadership Award;Company of the Year Award (2015
award presented to Akron Biotech); Entrepreneur of the Year Award
(2015 award presented to Vigilant Biosciences, Inc.).
Introduction of 2 new forums in addition to the CEO Forum including
the Research Forum and the Incubator/Accelerator Forum. These forums
will bring together peers from across the state to share best
practices and facilitate collaboration.
