WOBURN, Mass., Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Anesthesia Safety Products, LLC, a developer of fluid management devices, announced today that the company will be operating under a new trade name known as ClearLine MD™ effective immediately.  The name of the Company's primary product line will also change, from AirPurge to ClearLine IV™.

"ClearLine MD more accurately reflects the vision of reducing the negative patient outcomes associated with air embolism and positions the company more broadly to expand its clinical applications," said Amy Rosse Stapleton, member of the Board of Directors of ClearLine MD.

ClearLine MD repositions the company in the medical marketplace, where it sells fluid management devices that protect patients against the dangerous intrusion of air during vascular access. Now clinicians can deliver fluids, medication, blood or blood products using an intravenous or central line with peace of mind that only the intended fluid is reaching the patient.  ClearLine IV is the only FDA-cleared device for the automatic detection and removal of air from fluid lines.

"This is a very exciting day for our Company," said Ann M. Bilyew, President and CEO.  "ClearLine MD reflects our complete commitment to ensuring the integrity of infusions and keeping patients safe from the potential catastrophic complications of air embolism."

About ClearLine MD:
ClearLine MD is founded and funded by forward-thinking device engineers based on first-hand knowledge of an avoidable adverse event, air embolism.  The Company is delivering a new standard of care for eliminating air from IV lines and avoiding the clinical complications associated with air embolisms.
