Progyny Presents Abstract on Increasing Access to Fertility Care at Annual Fertility Conference

Posted on: 13 Oct 16

NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Progyny, a leading digital healthcare company, today announced Karin Ajmani, president of healthcare services at Progyny, will present the abstract titled, “Employer Engagement and Education Increases Access to Care and eSET Utilization,” at the American Society for Reproductive (ASRM) Medicine 2016 Scientific Congress in Salt Lake City. The presentation will showcase results from companies that launched Progyny’s fertility benefits plan in January 2016. The abstract will be presented on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11:15AM MT.

The presentation will highlight the significance of educating employers on best practices for assisted reproductive technology (ART) and clinical outcomes by providing a comprehensive benefit without restrictions on treatments or a defined dollar maximum. By providing employers with a Progyny SMART™ (Science and Member-driven Advanced Reproductive Technology) Cycle treatment plan which includes embryo assessment tools and promotion of elective Single Embryo Transfer (eSET), the company has been able to increase access to fertility care, increase pregnancy rates, and decrease multiples (twins or more) to four percent from a national average of 28 percent.

“Our goal is to eliminate the $1 billion annual healthcare costs related to high-risk maternity care, pre-term birth and NICU that stem from IVF multiples,” said Ajmani. “By giving employees access to the best technologies and utilization of eSET, we’re able to reduce the rate of twins and multiples which then reduces the overall maternity costs for the employer.”

“We are thrilled to present these results and the talented physicians in our network deserve a tremendous amount of recognition for this achievement as well,” added Gina Bartasi, CEO of Progyny. “Their partnership and leadership towards shifting the industry to single embryo transfer has been instrumental to our success.”
