NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 18, 2016

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) today announced that PrescribeWellness, the cloud-based services company whose mission is to inspire collaboration for better health, has become the Official Medication Synchronization (Med Sync) Technology of NCPA's Simplify My Meds® program.

Simplify My Meds is a turnkey medication adherence program for independent community pharmacies. It provides pharmacists with the tools necessary to implement and maintain a med sync program. Community pharmacies that provide med sync services report that they garnered praises from patients, improved pharmacy operating efficiency and increased revenue and prescriptions filled.

"It is an honor to partner with NCPA as the Official Med Sync Technology of Simplify My Meds," said PrescribeWellness President and CEO Al Babbington. "We are excited about this collaboration and look forward to continuing our work with NCPA to encourage pharmacists to enroll patients in med sync and use the pick-up date to offer extended patient care services."

The PrescribeWellness med sync solution, StarWellness, provides community pharmacists an effective solution for implementing and maintaining a successful technology-enabled med sync program. Pharmacies are able to identify patients who could benefit from med sync, helping pharmacists address adherence issues and positively impact a plan's star ratings. It also helps pharmacists to easily recruit patients, quickly enroll patients, and effectively manage patients month-over-month with an electronic med sync calendar.

"2016 marks the five-year anniversary of Simplify My Meds," said NCPA CEO B. Douglas Hoey, RPh, MBA. "And now, nearly 85 percent of full-line independent pharmacies offer med sync services benefitting more than 1.6 million patients. We are excited to work with PrescribeWellness to help our community pharmacy members enroll millions of additional Americans in med sync and improve their adherence to their prescribed medications."
