Dr. Smith is the Senior Director for the Applied Innovation Center for Advanced Analytics, Desert Research Institute, and Professor of Microbiology and Epidemiology, at the University of Nevada School of Community Health Sciences. He was previously Senior Advisor for International Biodefense for the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Health Affairs and was detailed to the U.S. State Department Office of International Health and Biodefense.
