Secant Group, LLC will announce the launch of Regenerez® Extruded Components at the Compamed tradeshow in Düsseldorf, Germany November 14-17, 2016. Regenerez® Extruded Components represent the next generation of the bioresorbable polyglycerol sebacate (PGS) polymer for implantable medical devices. Regenerez PGS polymer has shown to be antimicrobial and promote natural healing and tissue growth. Secant Group, LLC has now developed the capability to extrude this unique polymer into an endless variety of components for a number of applications such as pediatric, cardiovascular, and wound care. Extrusions can also be produced as films for soft tissue applications. Components such as tubes or rods manufactured by extrusion with Regenerez offer zero order drug release kinetics as a result of surface erosion degradation and can be used for novel implantable drug delivery devices.
Jeff Robertson, President of Secant Group, LLC explains, “Our company’s vision is to be an end-to-end service provider for the medical device industry. Through our advanced materials and process technologies we are able to solve complex technical challenges for our customers. Regenerez® Extruded Components is another example of our capabilities to provide unique solutions to the industry that improve patient outcomes.”
