SAN MATEO, Calif., Aug. 29, 2017

SAN MATEO, Calif., Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Speck and Crisis Text Line today announced an ongoing partnership that will begin with The Sticker Project, a nationwide movement to place a life-saving sticker in every bathroom in America. The Sticker Project will kick off at Playlist Live in Washington, D.C. on September 1, marking the first day of National Suicide Prevention Month.

Crisis Text Line is a not-for-profit organization that provides free, 24/7 support for people in crisis via text message. Over the past four years, 45 million messages have been exchanged between people in crisis and more than 3,400 trained volunteer counselors.

Speck protects the smartphones we use everyday. Crisis Text Line turns them into a literal lifeline. That's why Speck has pledged to support Crisis Text Line Founder Nancy Lublin's goal of placing a sticker with information on how to get help in every bathroom in America — the place many people seek refuge during a personal crisis.

"Everyone uses the bathroom. Like, every. Single. Human. Everywhere," Lublin said. "And we want everyone to know that there is free, fast, and anonymous help available if they are in crisis."

The stickers have instructions for those in need of crisis support to text TBH to 741741 and can be ordered for free by schools, counseling centers, youth groups, or any individual hoping to make an impact. Speck and Crisis Text Line encourage everyone, with permission, to distribute the stickers in bathrooms across the country.

"This cause is near to our hearts here in the Bay Area," Speck CEO Irene Baran said. "We know many people in Silicon Valley experience high stress or pressure. It's not always easy to ask for help, but Crisis Text Line is on a mission to change that. We care deeply about the wellbeing of our community and the country as a whole, so we're incredibly proud to help spread the word about this service."
