TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2017 /CNW/ - Kidney Cancer Canada / Cancer du rein Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Andrew as the Executive Director of the organization.

"Stephen has a tremendous passion and dedication to Kidney Cancer Canada / Cancer du rein Canada with a clear, inventive vision on how to serve patients and caregivers," says Board Chair, Andrew Weller. "After an extensive search, Stephen is clearly the person to lead our organization to the next level."

The former television and radio journalist has a thorough understanding of Kidney Cancer Canada / Cancer du rein Canada, having served as Interim Executive Director during the search and previously as a member of the Board of Directors.

"11 years ago, following a metastatic kidney cancer diagnosis my life expectancy was mere months," Andrew explains. "I am thrilled to be taking on this new role, to share my experience and to work with our amazing team to support the thousands of Canadians who are touched by kidney cancer."

Mr. Andrew's appointment is effective immediately.
