MC10 Inc. CEO, David Icke, has been invited to speak at The TEDMED 2012 conference, an annual gathering of science, medical and technology leaders that explores the promise of technology and potential of human achievement in health and medicine. TEDMED 2012 is being held April 10-13 at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.

MC10 reshapes electronics to create thin, conformal systems that flex, stretch, and bend seamlessly with the natural world. Its technology can connect with soft tissue both on and in the body, enabling entirely new types of wearable electronics and medical interventions. Mr. Icke’s presentation, on Wednesday afternoon, April 11 as part of session four will explore how conformal electronic systems can help us understand the mysteries of the body.

“The advent of electronics and computing have fundamentally changed the way we interact with the world, but the basic technology remains rigid and brittle – ultimately limiting how and where systems can be used,” said David Icke, CEO of MC10. “MC10 is reshaping high-performance electronic systems into an entirely new class of applications that will improve our quality of life. We look forward to sharing thoughts with the TEDMED community.”

MC10 is developing a variety of products including interventional circuits that can diagnose and influence tissue function and ‘seamless sensing’ devices that can monitor key systems and functions such as the heart (ECG), the brain (EEG), muscles (EMG), body temperature, and hydration. The company has partnered with a number of industry leaders including Massachusetts General Hospital and Reebok, and expects to launch initial products this year.
