Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Nashville (“ODC Nashville”) announced today the completion of its interior renovations and the upgrade of its Magnetic Resource Imaging (MRI) equipment to the latest, top of the line technology available. Beginning immediately, patients who are referred to ODC Nashville will not only experience fresh décor and greater comfort in the center’s waiting areas, they can now have their MRI studies performed on the newly installed, GE Optima 450W “high field, wide bore” system. This MRI system, the only such GE system in Nashville, combines the high-field magnet technology preferred by physicians with the increased bore space desired by patients to result in the highest levels of patient and referring physician satisfaction in the area.
This upgrade is designed to position ODC Nashville as the unsurpassed market leader in overall outpatient imaging care in the area. Sarah Dunphy, Administrator at Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Nashville, explains: “Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Nashville already provides patients one of the most affordable imaging solutions in the market. Additionally, we strive daily to exceed patient and referring physician expectations. Now, we have the most comfortable and patient friendly environment with unequaled imaging technology. It’s the finest technology, the friendliest environment, the top radiology expertise and the best service to referring physicians - all at the most affordable price.”
Historically, MRI equipment would be classified as either a “high field” system or as an “open” system. However, the GE Optima 450W combines the benefits of both while eliminating the drawbacks of each. For example, “open” MRI systems do not produce the same image quality as closed systems because the magnet is open, not circular, thus resulting in compromised “low field” exam. Similarly, conventional high field MRI equipment has a bore width of only 60 cm whereas the new GE Optima 450W has a bore width of 70cm resulting in 36% more space and an “open” feeling for patients. “The result,” Dunphy continues “is the image quality physicians require with the comfort patients want.”
Some of the specific benefits to the GE Optima 450W MRI are higher quality images, reduced exam times and advanced functionality for spine and vascular studies. Additionally, at ODC Nashville, patients will be scanned in a cooler environment with the ability to play music during their exam for an even higher level of comfort.
The renovations at ODC Nashville include new carpet and paint, an expanded waiting room, an upgraded front desk and registration area and a complete reconstruction of the MRI suite.
Outpatient Diagnostic Center of Nashville operates Monday thru Friday from 730a to 600p with extended services as needed. In addition to the new GE Optima 450W MRI system, the center also provides Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Bone Density and Electromyography (EMG) studies.
