OAKLAND, Calif., April 10, 2012
OAKLAND, Calif., April 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Breema Center today announced that it will offer a week of free classes and sessions in support of the 14th Annual Bay Area Dance Week, a comprehensive series of local events presented during National Dance Week. A variety of Breema events over a range of days and times affords many opportunities for participants to try a unique approach to living a balanced life.
People can choose from Breema classes, Self-Breema classes, and mini-sessions, on both weekends and during the week. In Breema classes, participants learn simple Breema bodywork sequences (movements done with another person) and Self-Breema exercises (movements done using one's own body) that nurture and energize both giver and receiver. During Self-Breema, participants experience being giver and receiver at the same time.
People interested in just receiving Breema bodywork can schedule having a mini-session at the Breema Clinic on April 25.
Done in a nonjudgmental atmosphere, Breema is a comprehensive holistic health system that supports vitality and well-being by using connection to the body as a tool for being more present. It offers practical steps to establish a true body-mind connection that introduces people to a unique quality of touch that is a direct expression of one's degree of presence in the moment.
The Nine Principles of Harmony, at the heart of Breema, can be applied to any activity or profession. Working with them leads to a receptive mind, supportive feelings, and a relaxed body. By using the principles while doing the bodywork and exercises, people can have many moments of being present, then begin to practice mind-body connection in daily activities.
Breema is done fully clothed on a comfortably padded floor. No prior bodywork experience is needed. For details about the free Bay Area Dance Week events, visit www.breema.com or call 510-428-0937.
