Job Summary:

Exciting opportunity to join a Top 20 Global specialist Pharma Organisation as Medical Science Liaison (MSL). Responsibility will be to cover the UK region with emphasis on the South East and Midlands regions. You’ll have accountability, visibility and the opportunity to work autonomously whilst shaping the role for our client’s Diabetes therapy area.

UK wide coverage role  - emphasis on South East and Midlands

Diabetes – leading to other therapy areas including Oncology

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

 As the MSL working nationally, you’ll be responsible for:

 Use specific disease (Diabetes) and product knowledge to answer medical/technical unsolicited enquiries from HCPs, provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs, etc.

Continuously screen, review and analyse scientific literature; generate summaries & critical assessments if appropriate

Proactively identify and develop long term peer-to-peer relationships with opinion leaders and other relevant stakeholders in order to understand their needs, segment them accordingly and implement targeted approach and tactics in order to present medical data in the most efficient way

Act as field-based reference points of scientific and clinical expertise for sales force and other internal stakeholders

Support ongoing and future Company Sponsored Studies

Capture and share in-field insights to support medical and scientific strategy and business development.

Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities (e.g. Advisory boards, medical education and peer-to-peer training activities)

Provide clinical presentations and medical information as necessary

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Previous MSL / Scientific Advisory experience is ideal, however Diabetes / Primary Care experience, PhD will be considered.

Degree in biological sciences, medicine or pharmacy, ideally PhD or similar.

Substantial postgraduate experience desirable

Communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence senior external stakeholders

Able to present clinical data clearly and concisely and discuss the statistical and clinical relevance of such data
