Job Summary:

Rare opportunity for a pharmaceutical field sales/ key account manager to join a Top 20 Global specialist Pharma Organisation as Diabetes Medical Science Liaison (MSL). Responsibility will be to cover the UK with emphasis on the South East and Midlands regions.

Opportunity for move from a pharmaceutical commercial role to medical affairs.



As our Client’s National MSL you’ll be responsibility for: accountability, visibility and the opportunity to work autonomously, therefore requiring previous MSL, Scientific Advisory or Field Sales experience. You will need to be a proactive professional, used to working in a small team with little line involvement.

The role will focus on KOL management and upskilling educational speakers (training the trainer initiatives).

Use specific disease (Diabetes) and product knowledge to answer medical/technical unsolicited enquiries from HCPs, provide accurate and non-promotional scientific information relating to licensed and unlicensed indications following unsolicited requests from HCPs, etc.

Proactively identify and develop long term peer-to-peer relationships with opinion leaders and other relevant stakeholders in order to understand their needs, segment them accordingly and implement targeted approach and tactics in order to present medical data in the most efficient way.

Act as field-based reference points of scientific and clinical expertise for sales force and other internal stakeholders

Participate in the development and implementation of key medical activities (e.g. Advisory boards, medical education and peer-to-peer training activities)



Previous MSL / Scientific Advisory experience ideal

Other backgrounds considered: Pharmaceutical field sales/ key account management.

In depth understanding of the NHS.

Working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice

Degree in biological sciences, medicine or pharmacy, ideally PhD or similar.

Substantial postgraduate experience desirable

Communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence senior external stakeholders

Able to present clinical data clearly and concisely and discuss the statistical and clinical relevance of such data
