Our client is one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical companies. They are delivering innovative and sustainable presence in core therapeutic areas with a mature pipeline, including HIV/Infections Diseases, Respiratory, Oncology, Immuno-inflammation and Rare Diseases.

PRIMARY DUTIES

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative and motivated Medical Affairs leader to provide strategic medical affairs leadership for an asset in COPD. The successful applicant will be accountable to develop and execute the Medical Affairs strategy and provide scientific and medical information to leading decision makers and healthcare professionals in the key affiliates.

The Global Medical Affairs Leader is accountable for Phase IIIb and IV evidence generation studies, including post-approval commitments and health outcomes studies. Working in close partnership with R&D, you will deliver the evidence needs for the asset and be accountable for developing and delivering the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (spanning late stage development and post launch market access support.). You will be a member of both the Medicines Development Team in R&D and the Medicines Commercialisation Team. You will act as the single voice of Medical Affairs for the asset, into R&D and Commercial.

The role reports to the VP & Medical Affairs Lead, COPD.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         Medical Doctor essential and PhD preferred

·         Proven industry experience in leadership roles, including affiliate and ‘above country’ Medical Affairs roles

·         Deep scientific expertise within Respiratory therapeutic area

·         Experience in the interaction and exchange of scientific information in adherence with scientific engagement principles and standards, locally and globally

·         Strong communication & collaborative team working skills, as the role involves interface with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally
