Job Summary:

Opportunity for a Physician/Pharmacist with medical affairs experience to join a blue-chip Pharma as the therapeutic Medical Lead in Rheumatology. Responsibilities includes leading, setting strategy and establishing medical value to existing pipeline and launches within a competitive market, management of an MSL and Medical Advisor team.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) and relevant therapeutic areas.

Provide medical/ scientific expert advice and guidance to key customers for assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with key opinion leaders

Provide medical / scientific input into Medical Affairs strategies for the affiliate medical department and commercial plans, as required, and medical / scientific support for medical department activities

Provide medical affairs support to cross-functional affiliate teams.

Provide leadership, strategic direction and mentorship to direct reports, as appropriate, and fulfil line management responsibilities accordingly.

Ensure that the medical affairs role is fully integrated to support the strategy and execution of affiliate business, while being functionally independent.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Physician (Medical Degree) or Pharmacist with Medical Affairs experience preferred

PhD with extensive Medical Affairs experience will also be considered.

Line management or supervisory responsibility within a medical affairs team preferred.

Strong understanding on relevant codes of practice (i.e. ABPI) and regulations.
