Global health and care company are seeking well-rounded individuals who are able to sit in a hybrid Business Analysis and Project Management positions. The business analysis component is the fundamental skill set for these roles but candidates who have worked as (or have a strong understanding of) Project Management responsibilities will meet the requirements.
This is an initial three month contract but is likely to extend well into 2017 based on satisfactory performance.
Lead the development and management of business requirements to address a business problem throughout the project and change life-cycle.
The Business Analyst will provide support in understanding the business, its operations and practices together with the environment, market forces, regulations and trends in the Insurance/Healthcare industry to elicit requirements and establish cost effective solutions that will enable the business to achieve its ambition and objectives.
Accountabilities and Activities:
Elicit business rules, process understanding, information and systems usage and constraints and consequences of a business need in order to develop requirements.
Apply a standard approach and methodology, whether structured or Agile, for capturing tactical and strategic requirements and where appropriate provide traceability of requirements and metrics.
Contribute to community of practice and body of knowledge for Business Analysis.
Lead and facilitate requirements workshops. Influence stakeholders on design related decisions.
Triage new requirements or project requests and develop business cases, estimates and benefits where required.
Ensure output is worked into commercially sound business cases with clearly identified and traceable commercial outcomes at all times.
Identify and realise opportunities to reduce cost and increase service
Actively seek out opportunities to extend, reuse or further exploit the solution/capability delivered across Bupa UK
Establish and manage effective and trusted relationships with key Business and partner stakeholders.
Demonstrate excellent influencing skills and natural gravitas to help drive change across the organisation.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
Experience of delivering business requirements using both waterfall or iterative approaches, business rules, use cases, business process descriptions, testing scripts. Managing business requirements through to testing and implementation.
Experience of working in a regulated (FCA/CQC) and compliance led environment
Development of project costings, benefits and business cases where appropriate.
Ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organisation whether verbally, visually or written. Strong influencing skills.
Knowledge of waterfall and Agile life-cycles and tool support for iterative and Agile methodologies. Applying standard methodologies to business issues. Knowledge and understanding of IT and the application of information technology.
The individual will have a logical and analytical approach to problem solving and issue resolution
The individual will exercise a considerable degree of judgement based on business, management and financial experience, experience of the industry and being up-to-date and aware of industry developments and risk management techniques
Communication and Interpersonal skills - ability to communicate fluently, clearly and concisely both orally and in writing in an appropriate manner for the target audience: good listening skills and the ability to both influence decision making and report on implications of outcomes
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills - The individual will have highly developed analysis skills in order to deliver outputs such as business, functional and non-functional requirements
Team Working - The individual will demonstrate an ability to contribute effectively to teams and relationships and to support others in developing and achieving project goals
Consulting and Advising - to work with the UK Market Unit to develop and improve existing systems, and to advise on proposed development/package implementation
Monitoring and Control - The individual will demonstrate an ability to monitor progress on projects and standards to ensure they are achieving desired results making alterations or improvements where needed
Must be well organised, work to deadlines and be analytical and articulate.
Must sets high, achievable and agreed standards of performance for themselves and the delivery teams
Must demonstrate a logical approach to solution analysis and decision making.
Must demonstrate strategic and conceptual thinking capability to assist in understanding the business need and outcomes.
Must be able to resolve day to day issues and risks across a portfolio of projects and is able to arbitrate on resource issues within projects.
Must be able to recommend solutions for approval at Director level.
The role is an office-based role, and will require travel to other UK locations.
