Job Description SummaryWorking as part of an established team you will use both electrical and mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to maintain and enhance the performance of Utility plant and equipment. Your aim will be to provide first class, flexible support to production requirements and factory services at all times. Please be aware that Utilities Technicians work a primarily daytime based rotating shift pattern which includes working weekends and being on an “on call” rota.
Responsible for front line support and prompt resolution for equipment maintenance breakdowns and repairs to the following Utilities: Clean water systems, HVAC, Plant and Clean steam systems, Refrigeration, Compressed Air / Gases and LV Electrical power systems
To maintain safe equipment through safe working practices
Compliance with Lonza Biologics Safety and cGMP policies and specific safety regulations
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and condition monitoring, as required
Maintenance of documentation and procedures
Undertake out-of hours call-out to support operations where necessary (Call out rota 1 week in 4)
Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance, monitoring, repairs and modification as required.
Processing of Manufacturing Deviations promptly
Team participation; contribute to the success of the maintenance function as a whole
Assist in procurement/purchasing/sourcing spare parts/consumables used in Maintenance Department

Skills• Competent electrical / electronic fault finding and analysis skills, • Competent mechanical fault finding and analysis skills, • Experience and training for the following Utilities - Clean / Plant Steam, LV electrical power (single & three phase fault finding), • Experience of working in a GMP OR food OR a controlled environment, • Knowledge of steam boilers and boiler operation training (BG01), • Nationally recognised electrical qualification, e.g. 17th Edition, • Refrigeration
