Career opportunity for an experienced QA professional to join this global Pharma company as strategic Head of European Quality Assurance. As Head of QA you’ll make a real impact on the company, specifically EU and US, planning, implementing and managing process procedure, including the management of MSPs / vendors and a small internal team. Office based in London.

Head of QA sits on the EU Management Team

Ideal for a QA professional at Senior QA Manager / Associate Director QA level currently within Pharma looking for first Director level position, or a QA professional from a CRO who has provided strategic direction for Pharma clients.

This role will involve international travel (EU / US / Japan)



The Head of QA is to provide strategic direction, leadership and management in all aspects of Quality Assurance (QA) activities on behalf of our London based client in regards to the conduct of clinical trials and its associated activities.

The Head of QA is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Management System is developed and maintained so that it is fit for purpose as well as ensuring all trial related QA activities are actively managed and resourced.

The Head of QA will ensure the QA department's small team are motivated to contribute and achieve departmental and divisional targets and objectives and the wider business objectives.  In addition, this position will be accountable to develop, train and ensure awareness of Quality standards, GCP and GMP by ensuring all EU personnel are regularly trained and compliant with the QMS system.  The Head of QA is required to promote and communicate a culture of compliance in relation to regulations and SOPs.

The Head of QA will lead and coordinate regulatory inspection preparation activities, and host internal system audits and regulatory inspections as required. The Head of QA will also be accountable for QA activities conducted on behalf of the company by third party contractors.


Extensive experience within clinical research (ideally some early phase) Quality Assurance

Managing and implementing best practice

Managing and implementing Quality Management Systems – QMS

Leadership qualities

Experience within a small to mid-sized Pharma organisation would be beneficial. Will look at candidates from a CRO background with strategic QA experience for Pharma Clients
