As a Laboratory Technical Consultant you will be part of a team that ensures Roche laboratories are truly cutting edge, delivering outstanding service to the patient from sample arrival to result generation. Reporting to the UK Centralised Solutions Technical Manager, your role will be to work closely with the regional sales teams to drive pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical market share. This will be achieved through a high level understanding of the entire Roche instrument, reagents and IT portfolio. Which will ensure that the most effective solution is offered to our customers and the system is configured to operate in the most efficient and cost effective manner.

Degree educated in a life science subject (or equivalent) you understand best ivd practices in the modern NHS blood sciences laboratory. You will have acquired this through a successful experience as a BMS (or equivalent) in a highly automated biochemistry laboratory within the UK. You must have at least 4 year experience running Roche biochemistry cobas analysers and a sound grasp of NHS structures, systems/procedures & hierarchy, you should have gained extensive experience of assay applications in an automated arena. Good laboratory middleware IT skills and a strong understanding of ‘Lean Principles’ are highly desirable.
With the ability to provide effective technical support during key stages of the sales cycle, you will be motivated by exceeding customer expectations, and instilling knowledge to deliver cost effective workflows and continuously enhance system efficiencies.
Self-motivated, you will excel in the art of providing technical expert advice and taking ownership and pride in your work. As an implementer of change you will have a questioning approach to issues, the ability to drive new innovations to achieve best laboratory practices.
You will have a strong customer focus with good interpersonal skills and able to operate remotely as part of a wider team. Working with minimum supervision, you will be expected to manage your time effectively and plan your own field work schedule/travel arrangements autonomously.
The role is field based but will require time spent in Burgess Hill with field trips covering the
UK (primarily in the North East/North West/ East Midlands). You will be expected to currently reside on territory or willing to relocate to the Northern part of mainland UK.
