Job Summary:

Due to continued growth Worldwide Clinical Trials (WCT) have a vacancy for a IT Applications Administrator – SharePoint & Enterprise Solutions


The primary requirement will be a strong background in SharePoint 2010 and 2013. 


Permanent role  - Office based Nottingham UK.


The IT Applications Administrator is responsible for supporting and managing enterprise applications and systems such as Microsoft SharePoint 2010/2013/Online, Office 365 and other enterprise systems and databases.


Responsibilities encompass software and supporting databases as applicable, maintaining and configuring systems’ features and supporting patches & upgrades, monitoring usage of systems, performing daily administrative tasks and providing second-line support to users. For systems that may require it, the IT Applications Support Administrator shall support validation activities.

The Applications Support Administrator should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to critical business applications.  This position requires both customer support skills and project management skills.


Tasks may include but are not limited to: -
•Configure and manage SharePoint services, such as Sites, Metadata, Search, Workflows and Forms
•Configure and manage Office 365 services, such as SharePoint Online and OneDrive
•Liaise with Worldwide business departments who use Worldwide applications to fully understand their use of the different modules and future needs
•Keep informed about new developments and best practices related to Worldwide applications supported
•Assist with the evaluation and installation of new software releases, patches, system upgrades and resolve software related problems
•Liaise with Worldwide software developers and third party vendors for the support and development functions of Worldwide applications
•For systems that must be maintained in a validated state, follow respective validation SOPs and use best practices in the industry such as GAMP5
•Ensure all data is properly backed up and there are procedures for restoring the data in a timely basis.
•Proactively monitor systems and produce usage reports
•Assist with testing system Disaster Recovery
•Provide staff with best practice advice on usage of collaboration tools
•Create training materials and conduct training sessions with staff
•Provide SharePoint and application support to all Worldwide staff


Perform other duties as assigned.  The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.


•Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or comparable work experience
•At least 3 years SharePoint administration and management experience


•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, deadline oriented and challenging environment
•Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
•Strong business analysis skills, understanding requests and transferring these into technical concepts
•Flexible, adaptable and able to work under pressure and efficiently multitask
•Able to succeed and contribute to a team environment
•Proficiency in all MS-Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Excellent knowledge and experience of SharePoint technologies and concepts, including: -
?Document Management
?Enterprise Search
?Content Migration
?3rd party tools including Nintex and Sharegate
•Good working knowledge of: -
?Active Directory
?Databases: Microsoft SQL databases and SQL code
?Windows Server Management
?Microsoft Office 365 and Azure
•Knowledge of GxP, FDA regulations governing validated systems including 21 CFR Part 11
•Experience of electronic signature systems such as DocuSign would be beneficial
•Experience with Business Analytics or BI tools would be beneficial
