Job title: Manager Business Development

Location: home or office-based, EMEA (ideally UK, Spain, France, Benelux or Nordics)

Contract: permanent, full-time

Industry: Clinical Research


Main responsibilities:

  • Generate annual sales per target objective in support of corporate budget
  • Develop and maintain assigned client relationships using the highest professional standards
  • Assist in recruiting new corporate clients to generate new business opportunities
  • Develop and assist in conducting client presentations to attract new business and support overall corporate positioning
  • Assist in organizing internal operations teams to develop and finalize client proposals
  • Under direction from management, research and develop sales and marketing plans, including overall strategic and tactical directives, for client companies
  • Negotiate and maintain contracts for client projects
  • Coordinate and integrate sales efforts with internal operations in all disciplines
  • Support overall group marketing activities including trade/scientific shows and mailings

Minimum requirements:

  • Strong clinical research background - four years of demonstrated previous business success in sales/marketing management, pharmaceutical industry, CRO business development, and/or clinical operations management
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in science or business; MBA or other graduate degree is preferred; in lieu of degree, seven years (total) relevant experience may be considered
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, with an ability to influence, convince and persuade
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Good computer skills with excellent knowledge of spreadsheets
  • Ability to facilitate team activities related to new business opportunities
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Ability to travel as required (approximately 25%)
