Job Summary:

With an expanding pipeline of Oncology products, this global pharma company is looking for a candidate with a scientific background (PhD/MSc) or Pharmacist qualification and knowledge of medical affairs. The broad role sits as part of its Oncology therapy area (aligned to solid tumour) and is responsible for scientific information and data exchange for Oncology across its EMEA region.

The incumbent will lead on the provision of medical/ scientific information and data to the European Brand team, allowing optimisation of commercial efficiency throughout the product life-cycle.  As part of the company’s global expansion this role will have an increasing remit over time taking part in global projects.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a specialist resource providing detailed knowledge of medical information for use in supporting  key communication messages and information required by Healthcare professionals
  • Write/prepare review papers, study reports etc for internal and external use and prepare medical “competitor intelligence” information for dissemination to the EMEA Affiliates
  • Answer medical information enquiries from European affiliates, assist with technical training for MSLs as required across EMEA.
  • Ensure that all materials comply with the UK Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry (via company SOPs) and is in-line with business strategy
  • Manage the provision of literature searches, scientific and clinical literature reviews to key marketing and medical colleagues on a regular basis and on request to support activities
  • Partner the European Associate Brand Director in the initiation, approval and implementation of marketing materials to optimise the marketing of products across Europe
  • Manage external medical education agencies for specific projects , providing initial briefings, managing projects time lines and progress reporting to ensure timely completion of project
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Keep up-to-date of latest developments in IT as applied in knowledge management as well as clinical and scientific matters



  • Scientific Degree (MSc/PhD) or Pharmacy qualification
  • Experience and understanding of a Pharmaceutical Medical Affairs function
  • Strong presentation skills, able to disseminate scientific information and data (including training) to internal and external partners
  • Possess knowledge and use of  medical information IT retrieval systems
  • Fully fluent in written & verbal English and readily able to work in the UK without need for sponsorship
  • Able to travel regionally if required
  • Although Oncology experience would be preferred other therapy knowledge would be considered
