Molecular/Cellular Biologist 6 month contrac to hire in South SF

My Client is seeking a Molecular/Cellular Biologist to join the Molecular Biology group located in South San Francisco. This position will be a member of a team responsible for developing novel plasmid constructs and production cell lines for the client’s AAV production pipeline. Skills necessary include plasmid design, PCR, cloning, and DNA sequencing in a high throughput manner. Additional experience in integrated robotics for library construction is a plus. Additional responsibilities include providing scientific results that support the generation of publications, patents, or regulatory submissions; participating in national and international scientific meetings.


Basic Qualifications:

OR Master’s degree & 5 years of Molecular Biology and cell line development experience

Bachelor’s degree & 7 years of Molecular Biology and cell line development experience

(Sorry no PHD candidates)

  • Relevant industry experience in all aspects of plasmid design and DNA cloning.
  • Must have strong background in molecular biology techniques including DNA purification, DNA quantification, PCR, and enzymatic assays
  • Must have direct experience with Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) and sample preparation for NGS.
  • Experience with liquid handling systems and automation tools for high throughput plasmid construction
  • Experience with LIMS and FileMaker databases for tracking cloning activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexibly in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Independently uncovering and resolving issues associated with development of new technologies and techniques
