Mary Tilston is recruiting for a Public Affairs Manager to join a global, research-focused healthcare company at their site based in Hertfordshire on a contract basis.
The main purpose of the role will be to:
-Play a pivotal role in seeking to shape the political and public policy health environment to support the companies mission that every eligible patient should have access to the most clinically appropriate treatment.
-To drive programmes addressing some of the big issues affecting the NHS today, such as sustainable access to medicines, patient safety and data transparency.
-Reporting into the Head of Public Affairs, you will contribute to building the company public affairs strategy and drive the implementation of its tactical programmes across the portfolio.
Further responsibilities will include:
-To build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with a network of key public policy and charity stakeholders to build support for public affairs objectives.
-To analyse and communicate health policy developments providing strategic counsel to colleagues and the business. This will include the drafting of high-level briefing materials, detailed reports and internal strategy documents.
-Ensure delivery of campaign programmes involving cross-functional working with product teams, public relations, medical, health economics and market access within the company's UK and the global organisation.
In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-Educated to degree level or above in life science or a related field.
-Must have extensive experience working in public policy, ideally within a healthcare environment although this is not a prerequisite.
-Be an adept project manager, able to coordinate the delivery of multi-channel communication programmes across different disease areas, working closely in collaboration with other internal functional teams.
