Job Summary:

An innovative and market-leading Pharma on the West-coast of the US is currently seeking a Principal Clinical Pharmacologist to join this expanding team. With a strong pipeline of products, this is an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career within an exciting location.


I am currently supporting my client to identify suitable individuals confident to move into a Principal Quantitative Clinical Pharmacologist role, providing the strategic influence within a team using modelling expertise. If you already have a strong experience with both Clinical Pharmacology and PK/PD modelling, and are keen to develop your level of accountability within an outstanding working environment, this will be a great role for you.  



As Principal Quantitative Clinical Pharmacologist, you will be responsible for driving the leading projects through key clinical development stages and overseeing the life-cycle management. You will also be required to contribute your expertise to Clinical Development Plans, whilst also effectively integrating the use of PK/PD modelling to drive predictive models to answer complex questions. You will help design and conduct translational PKPD modelling to support drug development. Here, you will be considered the sole point of contact within these activities at all key stages of discovery and development, and be fundamentally involved within the continued integrations and management of the Clinical trial simulations strategies.


Within this role you will be responsible for implementing recommendations for clinical doses, alongside dosing algorithms within the Clinical Development teams. Alongside this you will also review and lead the engagement with Regulatory authorities. You will also be responsible for providing mentoring and guidance to other team members. Here you will be expected to be an expert within this field, whilst keeping up-to-date with scientific developments and maintaining external appearances within scientific meetings alongside publications in peer reviewed journals.


The ideal candidate for the Principal Quantitative Clinical Pharmacologist position, will have:

  • A PhD or PhamD within a relevant field
  • Comprehensive track record of Clinical Pharmacology and implementing Modelling and Simulation.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead projects and anticipate program needs, alongside posing problem-solving and solution strategies.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience of leading and developing a Clinical Development Plan. Specific input within Clinical Pharmacology and Regulatory aspects would be essential.
  • Strong understanding of managing alongside managing PKPD, PBPK and translational modelling activities.
  • Experience effectively leading projects and sub-teams within a matrix environment.
  • Significant knowledge of the phases within drug development.
  • Strong English spoken and written language skills
