For their site based in Switzerland, my client, an international growing Medical Devices company, is looking for a Design Engineer Project Manager, Medical Devices with strong experience in the development of Mechanical systems.

The Device Design Engineering System Expert will lead the medical devices development engineering activities to ensure the development of commercial devices that meet the Business Requirement of Quality, Time, Cost, Usability and Functionality.


To lead / supervise device development projects and the day-to-day business relationship with external suppliers

To support the company in making strategic decisions / partnership and establish the appropriate structure to achieve objectives

The quality, timeliness and cost of deliverables for commited project

The accuracy and quality of product specifications to allow for a clear definition of device design according to specified product requirements

The quality of Design Files and the overall compliance with GBF MD Quality System and relevant submission bodies

The support the financial control of the project costs including changes

The quality of relationship with key suppliers and the day-to-day support of ongoing activities on development

The timely resolution of development / production issues, or communication to management of issues along with recommendation on how to to resolve them

The design file qualification and the overall compliance with GBF MD Quality System

The definition with internal customers (E-Health & Drug Delivery Platforms) realistic product and projects specification, that can be used as a solid basis for a robust device development

The support of teams for the preparation of and launch of new devices

The management of device throughout of commercial lifetime and initiate corrective and preventive actions as appropriate to ensure continuous product improvement and a high product reliability with a decreasing level of complaints

The tracking state-of-the-art devise / software / telehealth expertise and suppliers and to build this expertise into company‘s product development and processes

To provide Design Engineering Manager with timely financial and management reports as well as highlights of major achievements and alerts on critical stage



·         Professional expertise at the level of a university degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Micro-Mechanical, Physics or Material Engineering

·         Minimum 5 years experience with proven track record in the medical device industry as Project Manager in interdisciplinary teams

·         Experience in development and production of medical devices

·         Strong R & D background

·         Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, communication and management skills

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirited with the ability to resolve conflicts and motivate others

·         Action oriented and able to operate effectively under tight deadlines and high workload

·         Target oriented to provide committed deliverables on time

·         Able to work in multi-cultural environment and to manage multiple projects simultaneously

·         Passion, self-motivator and excellent professional attitude

·         Excellent written, verbal and listening skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft project or other project management software

·         Fluent in English, knowledge of French or / and German is a plus
