The Senior Director, Project Management is the senior liaison with and has overall responsibility for assigned customers and is the primary point of contact for clinical programs. The primary function of the role is to oversee and direct multiple clinical trials concurrently. Through assigned PDs/ PMs, they will lead and direct global cross-functional teams and manage client expectations to achieve client satisfaction. 

You will be accountable for: 

  • Providing leadership and accountability for the work of professional staff and managers assigned in his/ her therapeutic area including direct line management
  • Ensuring compliant and profitable project delivery that meets or exceeds customer and industry standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to program budget and scope of work to realize program profitability
  • Ensuring all program tasks are completed 
  • Ensuring effective communication is maintained and program status reports and monthly progress reports are provided both internally and externally
  • Ensuring adequate resourcing is available to meet program deliverables and milestones
  • Acting as the key relationship manager between Premier Research and the customer
  • Overseeing and/or managing the program team to ensure program progress is according to client and Premier Research requirements and recommends and drives necessary courses of action to keep program on track
  • Monitoring and managing customer satisfaction
  • Assisting in the creation, development and nurturing of key strategic customer relationships
  • Facilitating communication within the program and cross-functional teams
  • Preparing forecasts for staff utilization over the life of the program
  • Assisting in Business Development activities including proposal development, proposal costing and budget reviews, and leading proposal presentations in partnership with Business Development and Scientific Account Leadership
  • Mentoring and training Project Directors, Senior Project Managers and Project Managers
  • Representing Premier Research as a presenter at professional meetings or seminars

You'll need this to be considered:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a clinical, biological, scientific, or health-related field (life science preferred)
  • Extensive relevant experience in a pharmaceutical company/medical device company/CRO including trial management experience - experience working in a CRO is necessary 
  • Extensive knowledge of CNS
  • Budget/finance/costing experience on a project and program level
  • Experience in coaching/mentoring and line managing other PMs
  • Experience in managing complex, global trials; multiple phases; and full lifecycle
  • Excellent knowledge of ICH/GCP regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA Guidance Documents/EU Directives/ISO14155 regulations, drug/device development, and clinical monitoring procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of the principles of project management
  • Customer service focused approach to work, both internally and externally
  • Fluent in the English language have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Ability to balance operational and strategic priorities
  • Must be available to travel 20 to 40%
