Job Summary:

We are currently looking for a Scientific and Market Access Manager for a small, growing specialty pharmaceutical company. The ideal candidate for the role will have strong experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/Medical Advisor within the area of oncology, along with sales/market access experience within the UK. A good understanding of the market access, HTA (Health Technology Assessment) and pricing processes within the UK is key.


This is a homebased role with travel across the UK.


  • Provide scientific information and support
  • Act as the disease area and product expert for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Guide on the access route for products
  • Work as the key scientific professional for Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Health Care Professionals (HCPs)
  • Give detailed and in depth therapy and product information
  • Organise and participate fully in medical meetings with stakeholders
  • Set up events such as advisory boards and congresses
  • Act as the representative for the company within company and industry regulations, policies and procedures
  • Develop and execute scientific and medical strategy
  • Frequent travel throughout the UK

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc essential and PhD/MSc is preferable
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Substantial experience and understanding within the area of oncology (as an MSL, Medical Advisor)
  • Excellent communication skills – able to use relevant industry and medical terminology
  • Proven ability to build successful professional relationships with KOLs
  • Good knowledge of the Market Access processes within the UK
  • Understanding of HTA and pricing procedures
  • Exceptional ability to plan and organise
  • Strategy implementation
