Requirements:

Mary Tilston is recruiting for a Business Development Scientific Advisor to join a privately owned Pharmaceutical company bringing high quality, innovative medicines to UK health professionals and their patients. The role will be based in Cambridge on a permanent basis.

The main purpose of the role will be to:
-Provide business development support and actively contribute to the in-licensing, acquisition or partnering of new assets.
-Provide high quality clinical and scientific input to the screening and assessment of assets and provide commercial insight into NHS pharmacy drug financing mechanisms and an up to date NHS commercial perspective.
-Work with and build relationships with external partner contacts in collaboration with Business Development (BD) colleagues, attend relevant external business and commercial networking events and conferences to identify potential partners/opportunities and work with colleagues to access key opinion leaders for target BD assets.

Further responsibilities will include:
-Ensure up-to-date knowledge of the ABPI Code and other relevant legislation in order to provide advice and support to the wider business.
-Advise and support the Business Units according to your expertise, contribute to health technology (HTA) submission documents and market access initiatives where appropriate and work with commercial and medical functions to ensure a full scientific and commercial understanding of the Company's products and any ongoing trial work and to provide appropriate input to develop the brands to their full potential.
-Contribute to the design and delivery of training packages to the UK sales force on medical aspects of relevant Business Unit therapeutic areas, clinical data and the Code of Practice at sales training meeting, sales conferences etc.
-This role could also act as a final signatory in the copy approval process.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-Qualified as a Pharmacist or a Medical Doctor.
-A commercial track record of achievement in the pharmaceutical sector.
-Communicative, confident & outgoing in interactions with both colleagues and external organisations
-Experience of decision-making based on incomplete information
-Comfortable working in a high empowerment, support and challenge environment, with teams collaborating consultatively and openly to achieve priorities.
-Preferably be a Final Signatory (pharmacist) or significant experience of the PMCPA Code of Practice
-A sound understanding of NHS commercial drivers, financial principles and budget planning/control is preferable.
