A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managed Service Commercial Manager looking to develop their career within a global Pharma company in their Diagnostics Division.

Roche are the UK market leader in pan pathology managed service contracts (end-to-end solutions) and this vehicle has delivered significant sales growth above the market in the past seven years.  The contracts range in complexity in both product scope and value added service provision.

Our Optimall managed pathology service has been designed to support every aspect of a modern laboratory: clinical, operational, financial and strategic. From sample collection to result delivery, Roche Diagnostics help our pathology lab clients to deliver a pathology service which is lean, swift and effective.

Roche currently have in excess of 100 Managed Services in the UK which cover over 35,000 product lines from over 150 subcontractors. In addition we have seen the increase in the level of “value added” services within the Managed Service customer.  Such tasks include future capacity plan modelling, change management processes, developed financial and consumption analysis up to desires for a joint governance model that develops a strategic partnership with the organisation.

The scope of the Managed Service Commercial Manager is to be responsible for contractual delivery and development of the Roche Managed Service Offering.  This will include B2B contract setting & monitoring of subcontractors to the customer specification, leading business reviews with key customer sites and working with key Roche stakeholders to ensure correct management reporting.

The job incumbent will oversee existing and newly acquired Managed Service contracts, carrying out major capital projects, in the UK and Ireland under our Optimall managed pathology service umbrella. He/she will be expected to seamlessly project manage and optimise all contract management processes with third party vendors and clients so that the third party provision is financially sound and competitive.

The Core Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Monitor and drive the project implementation program to ensure commercial targets defined at the commercial handover, are achieved and bettered, thus acting as the Roche focal point for the Managed Service procurement after the preferred supplier selection process is complete and within the managed contract.
  • Come up with breakthrough ideas to improve customer experience, grow revenues and ask tough questions to the wider teams.
  • Be the point of contact for the escalation & resolution of any third party installation issues.
  • Handle customer complaint, investigation and serve as communication liaison between Roche Contracts Management staff and internal and external customers.
  • Run the monthly/quarterly review meetings on behalf of Roche for the third party provision.
  • In collaboration with the internal colleagues and third party subcontractors, prepare clear, compelling management reporting tracking Roche’s & third party’s respective performance against the key performance indicators set in the contracts (pertaining to efficiency data & LEAN thinking including project cost reviews).
  • Support colleagues and customers in any reconciliations required to minimize outstanding managed services balances and vendor invoices.

The role is field based covering UK & Ireland, although you will spend significant time working in the South Central & Midlands region of England.  You will be required to visit our UK Headquarters in Burgess Hill (West Sussex) on a regular basis. We would expect the successful candidate to reside in in the South Central & Midlands region of England.
