Covance is currently recruting for a Project Coordinator within our Harrogate site.

Requirements:

COVANCE is one of the world’s most comprehensive and experienced contract research organizations (CROs) with a tradition of innovation in the science and processes of drug development. We have the ability to offer wealth of services covering all aspects of drug development ranging from non-clinical research services through to post-marketing safety and commercialization services. We are currently the only CRO with this depth of service offerings.

Covance is currently recruting for a Project Coordinator within our Harrogate site. 

Duties include:

  • Planning 
    • Assist in study number and project number requests. 
    • Assists project manager in study costing, quotation and contract requests where applicable. 
    • Under the direction of the Project Manager prepare short communication plans / assist with the production of long communication plans. 
    • Under the direction of the Project Manager produce project time lines trackers and Gantt charts. Discuss and monitor timelines internally, revise trackers and escalate any issues to the PM as required. 
    • Under the direction of the Project Manager produce, revise and reconcile project finance trackers and set up revenue trackers. 
  • Execution and Monitoring and Control 
    • Under the direction of the Project Manager, schedule conference calls and internal meetings, set up agendas and produce minutes / action trackers. Chair standard project calls as appropriate. 
    • Assist with the collection and collation of internal and Client metrics for report out to management. 
  • General 
    • Interacts / Communicates with the Client as directed by the project or study. 
    • Liaise with the appropriate functions within Covance to support a project e.g. QA, Client Services, Finance teams. 
    • Arrange logistics of Client visit in conjunction with BioPharm CMC Admin e.g. set meeting in the calendar, preparation of the agenda and pre-meetings, preparations for meeting content and minutes. 
    • Participates where appropriate in routine Client visits under direction of the Project Manager. 
    • Good knowledge of the variety of studies performed in the Division and ability to select and use the correct PMO tools to support a project. 
    • Participate and contribute to internal projects, tracking progress using appropriate tool and report out as directed by the project. 
    • Contribute to BioPharm CMC PMO Share Point site e.g. upload of documentation, update of project status and calendar. 
    • Identify the need for and following approval, initiate and participate in process improvements within the PMO and suggest areas for improvement within the wider organisation. 
    • Assist / Develop new templates as required. Identify and under the appropriate guidance initiate process improvements. 
    • Escalate issues within the internal organisation as appropriate. 
    • Identify activities outside of the scope of general duties and highlight to Associate Director of the PMO for review. 
    • Perform protocol, amendment and report review according to the relevant check list in preparation for Study Management, Client and QA approval. 
    • Perform format review of Certificates of Analysis and stability tables. 
    • Issue and follow up of protocols, amendments, reports and APs for Client approval. 
    • Run, review and perform actions as required for workload reports. 
    • Peer Review of all reports as appropriate during the training process. 
    • Assist with the training of individuals within the team and wider BioPharm CMC in areas of expertise e.g. archiving and document checking. 
    • Perform other related duties as required.

 

About you:

  • The post holder should ideally have a relevant degree and/or relevant Project Management Office experience. 
  • The ability to get things done by influencing others (both internal and external). 
  • An up to date knowledge of regulatory guidelines is desirable. 
  • Knowledge of capabilities and expertise of the Covance organisation and companies that may provide support services. 
  • Commercial awareness, interpersonal and negotiating skills. 
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of process excellence processes, tools and activities.
  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).
  • An in-depth understanding of health and safety policies, Company policies and procedures, and an in-depth understanding of the GxPs 
  • The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels with other Covance employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc. 
  • Industry experience in a relevant field.
