A new and exciting opportunity has come about for a Senior Medical Writer to join a well-respected independent Medical Communications agency in London.

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

This well-known medical communications agency specialises in the behavioural side of Medical Education and traditional Advertising. This independent agency has done truly excellent work on health brands in recent years has helped them become a well-established and respected agency. They are rapidly expanding due to their unprecedented success.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Write copy to the highest standard (quality and scientific) for a range of educational materials including development of oral presentations, publications, print items, and digital platforms, and for different audiences

·         Maintain templates, including clients’ proprietary templates, to ensure consistency in quality, formatting and referencing

·         Ensuring standards are adhered to by monitoring and mentoring junior staff

·         Liaise professionally with pharmaceutical clients and key thought leaders to discuss scientific aspects of the project

·         Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of therapy areas relevant to own accounts, including product data and educational messaging, terminology, and competitor awareness

·         Ensure effective communication with internal team to ensure timely discussion of issues that may impact on ability to deliver high-quality work on budget

·         Conduct regular appraisal/ performance reviews and ensure linees have challenging and aspirational PDPs

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Experience in preparation of a range of document types
Proven experience in medical writing in relevant organisation

·         Excellent scientific writing style and with skills to adapt to content and style to different audience groups

·         Excellent people management, with the ability to review work, coach and provide feedback to team members

·         PhD in Life Sciences

·         At least three years’ experience in medical writing

·         Excellent attention to details

·         Self-motivated with ability to work independently with moderate supervision

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills, including client presentation skills

·         Budgetary awareness and experience of estimating editorial hours to input into budgets
