As a member of the Pharmacovigilance & Scientific Development (PVSD) leadership team within Product Development Safety (PDS), and as a recognised PV expert, you will be accountable for leading a global team that ensures PV and safety-related regulatory requirements are anticipated, identified and communicated. You will collaborate with key internal stakeholders, in particular the EEA QPPV and the other senior Roche leaders who hold PV accountabilities; to coordinate activities that enable effective safety oversight and governance. You will also be responsible for establishing external networks in areas relating to PV, shaping external developments and promoting Roche interests. As a subject matter expert in pharmacovigilance, you will influence important aspects of the design, oversight and quality of the PV system.
You will be a member of the company pharmacovigilance governance council and will guide the preparation of proposals to this and other relevant company governance bodies, to ensure that required process changes and improvements are understood and implemented. You will also ensure the maintenance and integrity of critical company information sources relating to PV (e.g. PV System Master File). You will provide direction to stakeholders on PV matters and coordinate cross-functional input into the review of proposals and regulatory position papers. You will be responsible for the line management, recruitment and performance of the global team; providing strategic direction and leadership that promotes team development and defines priorities and goals.
Who you areYou’re someone who wants to influence your own development. You’re looking for a company where you have the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies. Where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point.
In addition to a Degree in a medical, healthcare or life sciences discipline, you will bring extensive experience in pharmacovigilance and leadership, a significant proportion of which will have been gained in roles with direct responsibility for aspects of a PV System. Your expert knowledge of major safety and health authority requirements will go hand-in-hand with proven leadership skills and the ability to direct global-line or matrix teams. Your ability to rapidly assimilate complex information will be testament to your wider communication, influencing and negotiating skills. An ability to shape external thinking is also desirable, perhaps demonstrated through involvement in industry PV forums or cross-company initiatives.
In return we offer a competitive salary plus the excellent benefits you would expect from a blue-chip organisation, including a genuine interest in your development.
This position can be based in Welwyn or Basel. Closing date for applications is 28th February 2017.
