Requirements:

This is a crucial high-profile role within Quintiles and the opportunity to progress your career in clinical research. You will manage a team of CRAs and overall activities for clinical trials in Belgium. It is a broad role which requires strong communication skills and collaboration with other functional teams in a global environment to ensure competitive cycle times and delivery of projects within the scope of work, budget and contracted timelines. As Associate Manager, Site & Resource, you will be accountable for and involved in all operational aspect of an effective project delivery, hence solid understanding of the clinical research environment in Belgium is desired. As a person you enjoy building relationships and you enjoy working cross-functionally and internationally. You are also able to dig into details when needed to improve processes and to ensure staff compliance with ICH-GCP and company SOPs. You will be responsible for development plans, coaching and performance reviews for direct reports.
 
 
While projects vary, your typical responsibilities might include:
 

  • Support the formulation of strategies and action plans to maximize delivery of a high quality team/department monitoring service, ensuring achievement of individual/team/department targets, aligning with company strategies.
  • Manage, develop, coach, and motivate CRAs to develop their skills to ensure that a high professional standard is achieved and project targets are met. Be an advocate for individual career development.
  • Conduct Accompanied Site Visits (ASV?s) to develop CRA?s skills (e.g. patient recruitment). Support CRA?s on solving project specific issues across site portfolio.
  • Attend customer meetings, maintain interactions with any local sponsor affiliates.
  • Support continuous improvement of monitoring processes to deliver quality, consistency and efficiency in delivery.
  • Participate in the selection process for new staff by conducting candidate review and participating in the interviewing process. Conduct on-boarding training for new staff in conjunction with Human Resources and Learning and Development training programs.
This knowledge and these skills are required:
 
  • Good understanding of the health and research environment, patient pathways through health systems and operational processes at research sites.
  • Good knowledge and ability to apply GCP/ICH/applicable guidelines, solid understanding of new methodologies in research e.g. remote monitoring
  • Strong management and communication skills (written and verbal), ability to present to senior management.
  • Ability to coach/mentor and develop staff
  • Ability to lead, collaborate and build effective relationships (including cross-functionally) with co-workers, managers, sites and customers
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Fluent Dutch and French language skills and very good English language skills 
 
 
 
Your educational background and experience:
 
Bachelor?s degree, preferred in Healthcare or other scientific discipline and 5 years of clinical trials experience including 1 years? experience in a leadership capacity, an understanding of general management practices desirable (e.g. The Oz Principle, The 4 Disciplines of Execution); or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
