S/he will lead the creation of sourcing strategies that lay out clear action steps to drive cost savings, engaging and aligning with the internal customer. In this position, s/he will also be responsible for managing key customers, measuring the performance of the supplier base, in accordance with strategic corporate goals, contractual requests and stipulations from clients including risk management, GxP regulations.Key Accountabilities:• Lead sourcing engagements and sourcing teams in the conduct of opportunity identification and RFx's where appropriate• Analyze and determine opportunities to leverage and consolidate the supply base using system level tools and techniques• Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and exploit emerging opportunities that benefit PAREXEL• Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers• Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models• Review and approve a comprehensive list of suppliers for bid processes developed by analyzing the industry to understand trends and competitive positioning in order to ensure system activation of the best possible supply base• Implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions• Provide product and service expertise to geographic associates to build network participation and expertise • Develop a strong tool set to assist all global team members in daily operations; and provide key performance indicators (KPI metrics) to provide process visibility to Customers, Corporate stakeholders, and suppliers, etc• Reporting and applying Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to monitor against financial and quality targets• Document current state, propose and set strategy, implement changes and measure KPI's to demonstrate improvements• Lead efforts to reduce excess suppliers, low performing suppliers and competitors as suppliers• Manage Supplier Relationships and establish yourself as a primary business contact for key suppliers• Develop risk mitigation strategies for key category segmentsMinimum Work Experience Requirements:• 5 - 7 years Procurement/ Strategic Sourcing experience with an emphasis in assigned categories• 5+ years in a people management role• Advanced experience in clinical research• Advanced experience in high-level negotiations• Advanced experience in the preparation, conduct and follow-up of high-level business meetings• Proven ability to build a strong, global network• Proven ability to think beyond Procurement to consider PAREXEL and its marketplace• Proficient understanding of the regulatory environment• Proficient experience in preparing and giving compelling presentations• Experience in pharmaceutical or related industryRequired skills:• Confident and professional presence with people at all organizational levels both inside and outside of PAREXEL that conveys credibility and subject matter expertise• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills• Client focused approach to work• Strategic business thinking• Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data• Highly proficient in contract negotiations, with significant knowledge of contractual terms and conditions• Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize and delegate workload• Proven ability to lead, influence, train, coach and motivate others• Strong planning and decision making ability• Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamworkEducation: • Bachelor's Degree and Masters preferred• C.P.M or equivalent professional certification preferred
