We have an exciting opportunity available for a Director of Target Discovery at an exciting biotech based in South East England. This is a fantastic option for an experienced scientist to enter into a growing, well-funded biotech in a senior strategic position.
Evaluation of disease areas and development targets into potential medicines.
Identification and review of targets or target combinations and therapeutic modalities (Immuno-Oncology) moving towards building a company pipeline of “best in class” and “first in class” options
Work closely with the CSO and CCO adding advice towards building a commercial case for the options in the pipeline.
Liaising internally and externally with academic and CRO partners gaining access to preclinical models.
Investigate additional funding options mocking the company forwards to phase I/II studies
Working with scientists to publish high quality papers in peer reviewed journals
Liaising with CMO to build clinical development programs
Additional Project Management responsibilities can be discussed after application
PHD Immunology/ Immuno-Oncology/ Tumour Immunology etc.
Strong background and knowledge of the T cell immunology area (~15 years’ experience in the area)
Relevant publication list
Knowledge of the drug development process from industry (ideal but not required)
Experience taking target drug concepts through early stage validation, preclinical development and the transition to the clinic.
