Surgical Sales Senior Account Manager, Alcon, UK (Manchester or Leeds)

Job purpose:

The Cataract Equipment Manager/ Surgical Sales Account Manager is responsible for achieving capital equipment sales in competitive accounts where Alcon has little or no existing business. This will entail driving capital equipment sales and growth targets through strong customer relationships and the ability to convey the superior performance of Alcon Phaco equipment. The aim is to grow Alcon market share, by achieving equipment sales in new accounts and by opening doors for consumable/IOL pull-through & upgrade opportunities.

This is a mobile field-based role and we're looking for someone in the Manchester/Leeds area.

Key Responsibilities:

•Achieve sales for capital equipment in competitive accounts where Alcon has little or no existing business through robust account planning and execution, i.e. Centurion Phaco related accessories
•Drive equipment penetration and upgrades in targeted accounts: Convey Alcon's value (beyond equipment) through value based tendering and managed services
•Develop robust business cases that influence key decision makers up to C Suite level (e.g. NHS/Private Board Members, Executives, Heads-of Department, Surgeons, managers, procurement etc.)
•Increase Alcon Phaco installed base through dedicated focus and by upgrading existing Alcon accounts to the latest Alcon technology through interactions with key decision makers
•Perform effective and robust demonstrations
•Proactively collaborate with the Cataract Procedure Managers (CPMs), Sales Leadership Team and Market Access Team to identify new customers
•Actively contribute to Alcon’s business strategies (including Surgical Business Unit Strategy, Managed Service Strategy and Value Based Tendering Strategy) to help drive sustainable growth
•Maintain a high level of therapy area and product knowledge, including awareness of competitor equipment, products and activities in the field
•Develop winning tenders; collaborating with market access, finance and other internal stakeholders

#LI-ALC Minimum requirements The ideal candidate will have:

•Degree in life sciences/ biomedical field or related work experience
•Proven Key Account Management experience, including management of negotiations at C Suite level
•Proven sales force experience in medical devices
•Preferred Sales experience in cataract surgery/ ophthalmology – desired but not essential
•Ideally experience in selling capital equipment in the theatre environment
•UK based experience of sales within NHS environment
