BACKGROUND

Shield Therapeutics PLC is a fast-growing specialty pharmaceutical company formed in 2008 focusing on the

development and commercialisation of late-stage, hospital-focused pharmaceuticals which address areas of high unmet medical need.

The Company’s key products are Feraccru®, for the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) in patients with

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and PT20 (a late stage pharmaceutical) for the treatment of systemic phosphate accumulation (otherwise known as hyperphosphatemia).

Feraccru obtained its first marketing authorisation (via the EU centralised procedure) on 18 February 2016, shortly followed by a commercial launch in the first half of 2016. As such the company is embarking on an unprecedented period of sustained growth in the UK & Europe.

As part of this expansion the company now seeks to appoint a UK & Ireland Medical Director to be based at their Headquarters at Euston, London.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

Reporting to the General Manager, UK & IRE (with functional reporting line to Chief Medical Officer), the Medical Director will make a significant contribution to all Medical Affairs activities/plans for key and portfolio products as part of a global commercial strategy.

At a local level you will drive the implementation of industry leading Medical Affairs and MSL plans within the UK & Ireland.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You will be a fully GMC registered medic with significant expertise in Medical Affairs and will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership experience and skills. You will be an ABPI Final Signatory.

You will relish the opportunity to deliver in an open, flexible and non-hierarchical environment.
