Main responsibilities

As a Data & Quality Manager you will be accountable for departmental training, leadership and support to the data team. You will lead by example, working to develop staff to collaborate with various functions within the UK. You will also perform user database administration and provide resourcing projections to the centre managers, head of UK data services and the director of UK operations.

Your key accountabilities will be:

  • Maintaining the accuracy of data systems, quality of data and be responsible for version control
  • Working closely with the centre manager and the patient liaison team for effective planning
  • Liaising with clients to provide study updates for the UK
  • Training the data team on internal systems and practices
  • Providing guidance for the data entry process for studies
  • Tracking and reporting of patient recruitment stages, flow of CRFs and queries
  • Conducting internal meetings to keep abreast of relevant issues for patient recruitment and to increase efficiency
  • Ensuring that quality of data is accurate and internal/external audit findings are shared with other sites and followed up appropriately
  • Attending investigator meetings
  • Providing line management to the data team, setting goals and objectives, measuring performance through the Synexus performance management toolkit and ensuring moral is kept high
  • Completing quality checks on site study data
  • Collaborating with CRAs/Internal/ external auditors/ centre managers to ensure that site issues are dealt with appropriately and communicated with the process improvement group
  • Ensuring the data team are following SOPs/COPs/ GCP guidelines and that training records for the site are accurate and up to date
Ideal candidate

As a successful Data & Quality Manager, you will likely have:

  • An extensive level of relevant work experience with increasing responsibility in data management with knowledge of many therapeutic areas
  • The proven ability to lead numerous core study projects
  • A good practical level of line management
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to adhere to project productivity metrics and time lines
  • Knowledge of clinical trial process and data management, clinical operations, biometrics, quality management, and systems applications to support operations
  • Working knowledge of the relationship and regulatory obligation of the industry with pharmaceutical biotechnological companies and CRO’s
  • The ability to analyse data, share information and make recommendations for improvements
  • Appropriate MS Office skills, EDC, eCRF and preferably IT/SQL
  • Experience in quality assurance and audit experience
