Summary
 
As Account Director, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of existing business for the Company’s benefit as well as for generating and closing new business opportunities within the account(s). You will have a major role in coordinating existing projects and ensuring that liaison with client and Company staff is efficient and effective for both parties.


 The Account Director;

  • Drives the business unit to attain set revenue goals
  • Ensures a profitable relationship with Client
    • Manages and leads teams through the delivering and confirmation of repeat/ongoing business
    • Makes regular client visits to develop relationships and identify new business opportunities.
    • Works with the Director and Controller, etc. to generate, monitor and achieve sales forecasts, revenue, and year-end goals
    • Manages their team to drive efficiency, productivity while optimizing profitability.
      • Maintains a high personal understanding of the medical communications agency and the pharmaceutical vertical.
      • Builds strategic partnerships with client(s) and serve as the client liaison.
      • Reviews literature on regular basis and offers client input and strategic direction.
      • Works closely with Medical Director to offer strategic input and support to client.
      • Solicits and receive client satisfaction feedback on a quarterly basis.
      • Informs client of specification changes and their impact on costs of project.
      • Meets project goals and timelines such as division Account Director Project Time Goal.
      • Participates in developing annual departmental and individual employee goals.
      • Works with supervisor and other Company staff members to ensure new business opportunities are in line with division capabilities and business needs.
      • Works with Operations and Editorial Managers/staff to ensure project specifications, details and client needs are fully understood by project staff.
      • Identifies and closes new business opportunities and work with management staff to ensure that opportunities are in line with Company standards and division capabilities.
      • Works with staff to assist in the development of business opportunities and to generate new business proposals and presentations.
      • Uses the time reporting system; signing and reporting all exception time on a weekly basis.
      • Completes other administrative tasks, such as travel and expense reporting or similar, in a timely manner.
      • Performs responsibilities in a professional manner, meeting the Company’s mission and goals. 



 
In addition to the above-listed duties, the Account Director carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
