Job purpose:

The purpose of the Mobile Business Development Manager role is responsible for the development of sales of Vision Care products within a designated region in line with company objectives. The territory for this role is North London.


Key Responsibilities:

• Sales Management of all customers within the region providing a principle point of contact for Alcon Vision Care with the overall aim of developing long-term sales.
•Day-to-day management of all territory and active promotion of Alcon, their products and services to ensure the success for territory and Business Unit.
•Meet or exceed agreed targets by customer/brand and account penetration within territory by effectively selling Alcon products and services within agreed timescales.
•Effective account management by following and demonstrating Alcon GPS (Global Professional Selling) Model in territory management.
•Effective administration of territory business including maintenance of Salsa (48 hour submission), timely and accurate processing of expenses (in line with company policies) and MDF expenditure recorded within customer activity calendar.
• Detailing of new products and marketing initiatives to the account base in a targeted way.
• Responsible for the negotiation of pricing within agreed company guidelines with all customers outside of the control of the National Accounts Team.
• The effective management of National Account outlets within the region ensuring objectives set by the respective National Account Managers are achieved at store level.
•Ensure outstanding knowledge of Alcon products – clinical and technical information, product strategy, market positioning and brand story messages to assist customers in selecting those best suited to their needs.
•Conduct training sessions (in practice training, dinner meetings, roundtables, lunch and learn, CET events etc.) to provide clinical and sales support to ECPs and their staff.
• Responsible for ensuring an effective marketing plan is developed for the allocation of Marketing Development Funds (MDF) to ensure the most effective return.
•Achieve agreed contact, coverage and frequency targets (Customer Segmentation) through face-to-face meetings and deliver customer centric activities in line with business objectives
•Monitor and share market intelligence (competition) by gathering market place information on pricing, products, services and go to market strategy (e.g. point of sale material).
•Maintain clinical, technical and category knowledge by completing all appropriate training modules within agreed timescales and by attending company conferences and workshops.
•Attend and participate in relevant local, regional and national Conference and Exhibitions as required, representing the company in a professional manner.

#LI-ALC Minimum requirements The ideal candidate will have:

• Educated to ‘A’ Level standard (or equivalent) with the ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience in a territory management role.
• Experience with in Field Sales role or as a BDM.
• Highly organised and excellent communication skills.
•Commercial awareness/business acumen of the vision care market and or pharmaceutical industry; knowledge and understanding of products, services and marketplace – preferred.
•Proven experience in developing and establishing successful key relationships and delivering excellent standards of customer service.
