The Network Services Administrator III is responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and continual improvement of Networking systems hardware, software, related infrastructure and associated documentation within the SynteractHCR global computing environment. Remote opportunity for the right candidate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve the global Network infrastructure including, but not limited to Data Center, Corporate and Regional Office locations.   
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve LAN Switching technologies including, but not limited to VLANs, Port Aggregation and all versions of Spanning Tree.
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve  WAN and Routing technologies including, but not limited to MPLS and Metro Ethernet connectivity, Static Routing, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols. . 
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve Network Security infrastructure including, but not limited to Firewalls, Application Proxies, IPS, IDS, Port Security, NAT, IPsec, SSL VPNs, and ACLs.
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve Application Delivery and WAN Optimization solutions including, but not limited to Riverbed, Citrix NetScalers, and F5.
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve Enterprise Wireless solution including Wireless Controllers, Access Points, Range Extenders, 802.1x and RADIUS.
  • Work with Global Systems team members to ensure any third party backup solutions, schedules and methods complement and do not conflict with any technology specific backup and maintenance plans.
  • Design, install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve monitoring, reporting and alerting solutions specific to all systems owned by Network Services functional group. 
  • Install, configure, operate, maintain and continually improve server hardware solutions, firmware and associated drivers for systems owned by Network Services functional group.
  • Establish, maintain and continually improve operational processes and procedures in compliance with governing policies and or Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensures systems and services documentation are established, maintained and continually improved within the SynteractHCR Service Knowledge Management System.
  • Works with team members to ensure maintenance schedules and associated SLA’s are being observed for all systems owned by the Network Services team.
  • Responds to and resolves service ticket escalations from Global Service Desk and Global Systems within agreed service levels (SLAs/SLOs).
  • Provides functional team expertise in relation to Change Evaluation and Change Management activities.  
  • Provides functional team expertise for root cause analysis in relation to Problem Management activities.
  • Provides mentorship, guidance and training to junior Network Administrators
  • Assists team leads and Management in roadmap planning exercises as they relate to Network Services offerings.
  • Works with team members and Management in defining measurements and to provide appropriate metrics for capacity planning.
  • Provides software tracking and usage reporting to Management.
  • Identifies, reports on and recommends corrective action on deviations from agreed service level agreements (SLA/SLO).
  • Provides cross functional expertise to other Global Systems functional teams as required.
  • May require work outside normal business hours to resolve incidents, problems, complete projects and/or maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Academic & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in a related field; or
  • 9+ years related experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications preferred but not required:  CCNA/CCNP, HP ASE/MASE, PCNSE, CCA/CCP-N, CNSE, ITIL Foundations or higher as well as other industry standard certifications that may be relevant to position.

Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of best practices in the aforementioned technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of network and security concepts in physical and virtual environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, Switching and QoS
  • Advanced knowledge of Firewalls, Application Proxies, and VPNs
  • Advanced knowledge of ITIL concepts and or other industry standard best practice frameworks and associated processes including, but not limited to Request fulfillment, Incident, Problem, Change and Event Management. 

     

  • Advanced level proficiency working within Windows Server Operating Systems environments.
  • Advanced level proficiency working within network switches and routers including, but not limited to Cisco and HP devices.
  • Advanced level proficiency with various networking protocols and services including, but not limited to TCP/IP, Spanning Tree, OSPF, QoS, etc.
  • Advanced level proficiency working with Palo Alto Firewalls and associated management infrastructure.
  • Advanced level skills working with Application Delivery Controllers including Load Balancing configurations, Application Proxies, WAN Optimization, etc.
  • Extensive experience working with and designing Enterprise monitoring solutions with products such Solarwinds NPM, and HP IMC, etc.
  • Advanced level proficiency in detecting and resolving networking performance issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio.
  • Effective verbal and writing skills; English + local language, if relevant.
