Kyowa Kirin International plc. We are currently preparing for the launch of Burosumab a treatment for X-linked Hypophosphatemia.  With an enviable pipeline, we anticipate other rare disease products for the future.

As a Rare Disease Business Unit Head you will sit within the Italian Affiliate and be a part of both the Italian Affiliate team as well as have strong links with corporate functions.  In this role your responsibility is to build the Italian rare disease business from scratch. With a small team you will engage with KOLs, patient advocacy groups and government payers.  You’ll work on early access programmes and generate strategies of patient identification and compliance.  Woking closely with HQ you’ll be completely aligned with corporate medical, marketing and market access functions. As our rare disease products are global, you will interact with a cadre of Rare Disease Business Unit heads from across the globe sharing ideas and best practice. 

In order to be successful in this role you must have recent experience in commercialising rare disease medicines.  You’ll be a leader with the passion and gravitas to engage and motivate others.  You’ll also be a hands on individual who enjoys leading by doing.  Both a strategist and an implementer, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop a vision for your territory as well as the drive execute on that vision. This role will have P&L responsibility so you should have exposure to managing business finances.  In addition to Italian, fluency in English is also required.
