An exciting opportunity has arisen for a DMPK Project Representative for a UK based client of mine.

As project representative, you will have in depth knowledge of both in vitro and in vivo DMPK and be responsible for representing DMPK on multidisciplinary project teams. You will be required to interact on a daily basis with project team members and will provide expert DMPK advice and direction. You will develop a deep understanding of the project biology and will have responsibility for progressing molecules with appropriate DMPK properties, through lead optimisation to clinical candidate nomination. You will be expected to operate across multiple research projects and demonstrate awareness of project status at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • To represent DMPK on multidisciplinary project teams and communicate DMPK data to the project in a timely manner
  • To define the DMPK pathway for compound progression within each project
  • To develop a deep understanding of the project biology and to work closely with other disciplines to design studies to answer key questions
  • To attend regular project meetings and provide expertise and guidance to the team on all DMPK aspects
  • To regularly update DMPK colleagues on project status and to be proactive in communicating relevant changes in requirements to DMPK team members in a timely manner
  • To work closely with DMPK colleagues to request and organise relevant DMPK studies to support project progression
  • To interpret in vitro and pharmacokinetic data and to liaise with DMPK colleagues to design studies to address key project issues
  • To liaise with chemistry on a weekly basis to guide synthesis of new molecules in addition to selecting molecules for further progression
  • To work with Pharmacology team members to design studies to allow development of PKPD models to fully understand the concentration: effect relationship for key molecules
  • As a compound progresses, to obtain key DMPK data and perform a human dose prediction. To refine this with updated data on an ongoing basis.
  • To write relevant reports required to support nomination of a clinical candidate
  • To present key data to global management as required

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in Chemistry
Experience working on DMPK projects
