We have an exciting opportunity for a senior finance professional, with proven line management experience, to join and lead our Commercial Finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Management, you will lead a team responsible for the reporting, reconciliation and contract review of managed service contracts & other major sales contracts. The Commercial Finance team is seen as the key customer facing finance point of contact by both internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you will support our Business Areas and the Head of Commercial Management by taking the lead in collating financial submissions for any complex tender responses.

As the Commercial Finance team manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring all reporting is on time, accurate, fit for purpose and continuously reviewed for improvement. You will be responsible for the financial implementation of new contracts and allocating the team workload. You will also be fostering collaborative working with other teams and customers alike.

Main function and key responsibilities

• Have overall responsibility of the production of monthly / quarterly financial and other reports to be presented to customers, including the reconciliation to our source systems.

• Support Managed Service Sales and Business Area Sales colleagues in preparing robust finances for tender submissions, including attendance at customer dialogue meetings.

• Implement the financial aspects of newly acquired sales contracts.

• Be a confident team leader and support team members in managing their workload and developing their skills

• Collaborate with internal and external customers, with the aim of actively identifying opportunities to improve our customers’ experience through optimal processes, the development of value added analysis and innovative services that meet their requirements.

Who you are

Educated to a degree level or equivalent (preferably in Finance or Business Management), you will also be CIMA or ACCA qualified.

You will be technically strong on core accounting principles while also having the ability to analyse, interpret and explain data to a range of external and internal customers. You will have experience of working in an analytical role and producing Management Information reports for a variety of stakeholders. You should have a robust understanding of deal calculation and demonstrate business acumen.

It is essential that you have a collaborative working style, proven line management experience, a robust approach to processes, close attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Start date: 1 October 2017 or ASAP
