We have job opportunities for Business Development Directors to join our European Early Development Sales team with responsibility for our non-clinical services.

In these job opportunities, you will be responsible for presenting and promoting our Early Development services (specifically Pharmacology, Safety Assessment and DMPK) as part of the broader Covance service portfolio to all potential and existing clients within your territory with the objective of establishing long term, mutually beneficial business partnerships.

Ideal candidates for these jobs will have extensive Experience of selling non-clinical services and solutions to the pharmaceutical sector, some scientific knowledge and awareness of the broader drug development process will be advantageous.

You will support our core European territories; specific country assignments are currently under review and will be advised upon expressions of interest by potential candidates. As a consequence a strong command of spoken and written English is essential as you will be expected to work closely with scientific, regulatory, operational and sales & marketing colleagues within Covance to ensure your success in this objective.

These career opportunities are field based and can be located anywhere within Europe although preferentially within the UK; strong links with rail and air transport hubs are essential to support European travel and some US travel requirements.

About the job:

- Focus on selling non-clinical services whilst also taking account of the broader Covance capabilities and differentiation framework.
- Develop and maintain account and action planning activities to facilitate partnerships with prospective and key accounts
- Develop and maintain a personal client call cycle to expand client base and realise opportunities to meet and exceed sales objectives
- Recognise and communicate sales opportunities for other Covance business units
- Maintain a CRM sales tool to ensure sales cycle documentation and accurate sales forecasts

About you:

- Bachelor's degree, life science preferred
- Extensive Experience in selling drug development services directly to the pharmaceutical and biotech sector and/or Experience in product sales and marketing within a biotech/pharmaceutical company
- Functional understanding of the regulatory requirements for drug development leading to product commercialisation
