Job Summary:

Global biopharmaceutical – varied, broad role with a portfolio and pipeline across a number of therapy areas. Industry leafing Fertility portfolio - an interesting mix of drug and med tech.



Our client is the UK affiliate of a global biopharmaceutical company focused on areas of high unmet medical needs and is a leader in providing differentiated medicines to help improve patient outcomes in key areas such Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis and the Fertility franchise.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen within Merck to provide high quality medical input into the business franchise which covers a wide range of therapeutic areas, including fertility and fertility technologies, endocrinology and general medicine including diabetes.


As a key member of the medical team you will be responsible for providing high quality medical/scientific expertise and strategic insight into the area. The position is a key strategic role responsible for the implementation of the therapy area medical strategy and plan. 

You contribute with cross-functional teams to strategic decisions in the overall product strategy.

You will also provide expertise on the creation and development of activities (promotional and non-promotional) and ABPI/IPHA/ABHI Code of Practice review/certification also ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory guidelines and company SOPs.

This role reports to the UK Head of Medical, Fertility, Endocrinology and General Medical and works in a matrix environment with the medical and commercial teams.


Medical Qualification and full GMC registration or Pharmacist (GPhC)
Experience in medical affairs roles within the pharmaceutical industry

Previous experience in the fertility in the Fertility therapy area would be advantageous

You have broad experience of developing and reviewing promotional and non-promotional materials.

You have an in depth knowledge of regulatory guidelines in relation to the Pharmaceutical and Devices Codes of Practice such as ABPI, IPHA.
