Part of the Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group, Otsuka's European operation was established in 1979 and they currently have sales and marketing operations in France, Germany, Italy, the Nordic region, Spain and the UK, supported by the regional office of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Europe Limited, based in Uxbridge.

PRIMARY DUTIES

The company seeks to appoint an EU Medical Manager. Reporting to the Head of Medical Affairs – Europe this is a key role in which you will have responsibility for medical affairs activities a strategic product in both existing and pipeline indications. There may be the opportunity to be involved in a launch across the EU. You will be responsible for establishing a close partnership with the commercial function, growing the Company's key opinion leader (KOL) network, and providing input to European life cycle management programmes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

You will be medically qualified with GMC registration and be able to demonstrate a successful track record in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. You will have, or be undertaking, PMST and will ideally be a certified final signatory within the ABPI code. You will have the credibility and cultural sensitivity to interact with a number of key stakeholders, such as the European Management Group, Global teams in the US and Japan and most importantly the EU Affiliate Medical teams. Experience in endocrinology or the renal area would be an advantage.
