NEW SPRAY WILL KILL SUPERBUG

Summary

a Bristol based Biochemical Company, says it has invented a new sprayable antibacterial disinfectant agent, to be launched under the name of D-Stroy, that can kill the hospital superbug MRSA and TB.

Greenbridge, a Bristol based Biochemical Company, says it has invented a new sprayable antibacterial disinfectant agent, to be launched under the name of D-Stroy, that can kill the hospital superbug MRSA and TB. Greenbridge claims their product will revolutionise hospital hygiene.

The news comes after a study commissioned by the company revealed that the UK is at risk of a severe epidemic of MRSA, or methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureas. Lethal traces of the superbug were found in many public places, the authors of the study claimed. It is feared that the bug could kill up to 150,000 hospital patients over the next two years.

Brian Baker, Managing Director of Greenbridge said: “Hospital cleaning agents do not work so well because they only de-activate bacteria. D-Story kills. It breaks down the DNA of the superbug so that it cannot replicate itself. It is unique because it leads to the total and utter destruction of the virus, yet it has practically no toxicity. So you could have it in the form of a spray and it would not harm patients.”

Mr Baker claims that the new product can also destroy the bacteria which cause tuberculosis and polio. He is currently looking for investors and licensees to market the product.
