| New Amgen UK website supports recruitment drive. | |
The worlds largest biotechnology company Amgen has launched a dedicated UK website to support a major recruitment drive as the company expands operations in the UK. The new website - www.amgen.co.uk - provides a wealth of detailed information for prospective employees as well as doctors, patients and the media.  In January 2006 Amgen announced a significant R&D investment in the UK with plans to create a European Development Centre in Uxbridge, London, and add to existing facilities in Cambridge. The company is now actively recruiting in its R&D and Commercial functions. Announcing the launch of the website, Nigel Thornton Amgen UK Head of Communications, said As well as providing information about our products and research, the site will be constantly updated with the latest careers information and job opportunities within Amgen.  The new site in Uxbridge can accommodate more than 300 additional staff and forms a key part of a global R&D expansion for Amgen. This growth in R&D is required to meet the needs of Amgens outstanding product pipeline in areas such as cancer, bone health and inflammation. The R&D expansion will almost double Amgens UK capacity creating new job opportunities in all aspects of drug development including clinical research, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, safety, data and project management.
